What? : INDIA DAY PARADE.
When?: Saturday, Aug 15, 2009.  From 12-Noon.
Where?: Allentown City Hall, Allentown, PA.
What to look for?: Flag-hoisting, Parade, Floats, Cultural show, Stalls etc.
- 12:00 Flag-hoisting
- 12:30 Parade begins
- 13:45 Parade Ends at Arts Park
- 14:00 Cultural Programs at Arts Park
Who is invited?: Everyone.
What to bring?: Bring flags of India & USA. Bring cash if you wish to buy food or other items from the stalls. 

Where to Park your vehicle?: Free Parking, See MUST READ notes below.
Allentown Parking Authority has provided free parking for the India Day Parade event. Please use Allentown Transportation Center at the corner of 6th and Linden (110 N. 6th Street). The entrance is on 6th Street. This is the new parking deck diagonally across 
from The Morning Call. When you enter, you will need to take a ticket to open the gate. Park anywhere. On your way out, the exit 
gate will be open.
The exit is on Linden Street. You do not need to pay, just drive out and make a right. Click on the "P" on the map below.

Where is the parade route?: See map below.
To go to Allentown City Hall, continue on Linden St towards N. 4th St.Make a right on N. Penn St.
To go to Arts Park, continue on Linden St towards N. 5th St. Make a right on N 5th St.

India Day Parade to be held on Saturday, August 15th in Allentown, Pennsylvania


The parade will commence at Allentown City Hall at 12:00 pm and will proceed for several blocks through downtown Allentown. The parade will terminate at the Arts Park on 510 W Linden Street (adjacent to the Baum Art School). At the Arts Park there will be a cultural program featuring performances of Indian music and folk dance. There will also be stalls offering various types of Indian food, clothing and other items.

The India Day Parade is being planned, organized and executed by a broad array of Indian American community organizations in an unprecedented display of cooperation and coordination. These organizations include, but are not limited to, The Indian American Association of the Lehigh Valley (IAALV), The Hindu Temple Society, and Anoopam Mission.

The parade is anticipated to be graced by the attendance of several dignitaries including Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Mayor John Callahan, Congressman Charlie Dent and Senator Pat Browne.
